Being a business that falls outside the boundaries of the Kingsville BIA I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Kingsville BIA (Business Improvement Area) and invite you to consider applying to our Associate Membership.
Kingsville continues to grow as one of Essex County’s most vibrant destinations for shopping, dining, tourism, and entrepreneurship. The Kingsville BIA works collaboratively with local businesses, community partners, and the municipality to strengthen this thriving business environment and promote Kingsville as a premier place to live, visit, and do business.
We invite your business to become an Associate Member of the Kingsville BIA. This program is designed for businesses, located outside the designated BIA district, from Kingsville, Cottam, Ruthven, who wish to connect with the local business community while benefiting from selected promotional, networking, and marketing opportunities.
Established in 1978, the Kingsville BIA represents more than 200 businesses and works to promote Kingsville as a dynamic destination for shopping, dining, tourism, and professional services. Associate Members benefit from marketing channels reach thousands of residents and visitors annually through events, promotions, tourism partnerships, and digital media, providing valuable additional exposure for participating businesses.
Who Should Apply for Associate Membership?
Associate Membership is ideal for businesses that:
- Operate outside the Kingsville BIA boundary but want to connect with the Kingsville business community
• Are located in Cottam or Ruthven
• Want to increase visibility with Kingsville residents and visitors
• Wish to network with local businesses and participate in community initiatives
• Want to align their business with one of Essex County’s fastest-growing tourism and shopping destinations

As an Associate Member of the Kingsville BIA, your business gains access to valuable networking, promotional, and marketing opportunities designed to increase visibility and strengthen connections within the regional business community.
- Kingsville BIA Monthly Newsletter – Stay informed with updates on local initiatives, business opportunities, events, and community news.
- Business Listing on the Kingsville BIA Website – Your business will be included on the Kingsville BIA website, helping residents and visitors easily discover your services.
- Social Media Promotion – Receive an introductory feature on Kingsville BIA social media channels with additional promotion throughout the year.
- Cooperative Marketing Opportunities – Participate in collaborative marketing campaigns and promotions designed to amplify business exposure.

Membership Fee
The Associate Membership fee for 2026 is $200 annually. Membership runs from January to December. Businesses joining mid-year may be eligible for a one-time prorated fee.
Important Membership Notes
- Associate Membership is available to businesses located outside the official Kingsville BIA boundary
- Associate Members do not receive BIA property improvement grants, façade programs, or infrastructure benefits funded through the municipal and BIA grant
- Associate Members are not eligible to vote on BIA matters or hold a seat on the BIA Board of Management
- Participation in certain BIA promotional campaigns or initiatives is optional and may involve an additional participation cost
- Membership renews annually and remains subject to review and approval by the Kingsville BIA Board of Management
- Associate Membership is available to businesses whose principal place of business is located within the Town of Kingsville (including Cottam and Ruthven), but outside the designated BIA boundary. Businesses whose principal office is located outside the municipality are not eligible for Associate Membership, regardless of where services are provided, unless otherwise approved by the Board.
Application Process
Businesses interested in becoming an Associate Member may complete the application below and submit it to the Kingsville BIA office. Applications are reviewed by the BIA Board of Management during regular board meetings. Payment is not required at the time of application. Once the Board has reviewed and approved the application, the applicant will be notified and provided with payment instructions.
